“Massage therapy with Hands On is part of my weekly triathlon program. Weekly massage keeps me one step ahead of my competitors. Regular massage relieves muscle tightness which develops throughout each week from all the hours of training. I am very lucky and grateful to have found such a wonderful and skilful massage team”
Andrea Hewitt
New Zealand Triathlete, 5x World Triathlon Championships medallist, Olympic Games Rio de Jeneiro 2016

“I've been receiving massage from Hands On since early 2014. The team has provided the highest quality of massage, especially during my period of injury when I prepared for the Olympic Games in Rio 2016. They have helped me perform on the international stage. I have received treatments in between my tournaments and during the 2014 Commonwealth games and the 2016 Olympics games”

NZ All Blacks Rugby Sevens player, Olympic Games Rio de Janeiro 2016

“The Hands on team are a friendly, understanding and highly professional group. I've worked with them for the last 3 years, and have reaped the rewards of their services. Sports massage really does make a difference, and these guys are the best in the business"
Anton Cooper
Gold medal winner Men's cross-country Mountain bike 2014 Commonwealth Games, World U23 Cross-country Mountain bike champion

“Since I injured my ACL in 2006, I struggled to regain strength and over compensated with my other leg. The Hands On Team helped me with massage to release my hips and quads which allowed me not only to recover quickly, but also to be able to train to my potential and perform to my optimal best. This hugely contributed to a good performance out on the hockey field”

"I was referred to Hans initially to treat a recurring ITB problem. He had me back training in no time and I then saw him weekly as part of my preparation for my first Ironman, in March 2009 in Taupo. As my training volume increased so too did the niggling aches and pains. However, as a result of seeing Hans on a weekly basis I did not miss one training session due to injury throughout my entire preparation.

He always listened to what training I had done and what sensations I had experienced and then treated me accordingly. His mannerism is always very calming and confidence building - which I needed!! I have no doubt I would not have made the start line of Ironman New Zealand - let alone finished it and enjoyed it - had I not seen Hans on a regular basis. I have recommended several friends and family members to him and will continue to do so."

"Four months ago and needing relief from a rotator cuff problem, I saw my G.P, who suggested a letter to a surgeon. The thought of which I found upsetting, to say the least! On the advice of a Physiotherapist, I tentatively booked to see a Massage Practitioner at SportsMed.

Hans instantly 'put me at ease' as he discussed/explained and commenced treatment. Relief was evident after the first couple of sessions and with Hans's gentle, professional treatment, I now have a greatly improved range of movement and freedom of pain.

As a former nurse, interested in the 'holistic' approach, and as a current maintenance client of Hans, I am acutely aware of the benefits of trying a natural method, before surgery is performed. My hope for the near future, would be that doctors will 'see it as a necessity' to recommend therapeutic massage as a 'first line' treatment before that "surgery" word is mentioned.
I am ecstatic to have avoided surgery and even the cortisone injection."
